Manciano

Characteristic village of the Maremma, famous among its citizens also with the name of Spia della Maremma, due to the peculiarity of rising on a hill and offering a view of the entire Maremma territory, Manciano is considered one of the most important archaeological sites in Tuscany.

The two churches of the village, that of San Leonardo and the Santissima Annunziata, built in the Middle Ages, preserve paintings attributed to Pietro Aldi and Paride Pascucci, the two local painters of great fame and of particular interest are the Rocca Aldobrandesca, which houses the premises of the Town Hall di Mancian and the Fontana di Piazza Garibaldi, built in Liberty style and collecting the waters of the Fiora aqueduct.

Another point of pride for the Maremma village is the Museum of Prehistory and Protohistory of the Valli del Fiora, which collects and exhibits finds found in the necropolises of Pitigliano, Sovana and the nearby town of Poggio Buco.
